About Our Mascot
There have been many inquiries about the genesis of the CCS mascot.
She is the creation of Aldo Parisot (1918-2018), revered virtuoso cellist, master teacher, and prolific painter.
During his more than fifty years of teaching at the Yale University School of Music, he drew many posters for his students' recitals. This figure appeared on Ida Mercer's Master of Music recital poster in 1980. Years later, when Ida co-founded the Cleveland Cello Society, Mr. Parisot gave his permission for it to become the CCS "mascot".
